Laura and Dan had one of my all time favorite engagement shoots (in the snow!), so I was super excited to see them again at their wedding the week before Christmas.  Their wedding was at the gorgeous Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park, and even though the day started with wet and rainy, it ended with magical snow and we were able to get some portraits of Laura and Dan before the sun set.

I think this might be my new favorite ring shot!

Laura was a STUNNING bride!

Nothing is more adorable than a bride in a birdcage veil!

Laura surrounded by her four flower girls.

Yep–that’s snow.  I’m getting cold for Laura just looking at these!  :)

I absolutely love this program idea–in the programs they took time to tell a little about each member of the wedding party and their connection to the couple.

A view of the reception from the outside looking into the Chateau.

This is just a teaser of the incredible cakes (yep–that deer is a cake!).  I’ll share more in the Best of 2010 cakes post.  (That’s always my favorite!)

You know how I love the father-daughter dance!

And the mother-son dances always get me, too!

Continuing in the Best of 2010 series, today we have our 15 favorite shots from the preparation portion of the day!

Bride reading letter from the groom before the ceremony.  (It came with a great present, too!)

I know it looks like a posed moment, but this was a completely candid kiss the bride gave her mom after her mom put on the finishing touch to the bride’s outfit.  It was so sweet!

The look on the flower girl’s face as the bridesmaids explained that they wanted her to use her little fingers to get the loops over the bride’s buttons was priceless!

A bride with a dress form AND a house with a wall of empty frames?  Could my job get easier?!

A brides putting on her earrings is one of my most favorite photo ops–it looks so elegant to me!

For the boys, there’s always some down time….

I *love* this nervous exhale!

It’s not a girl’s getting ready room without a toast!

The girls had their turn…now it’s time for our favorite three photos of the guys!  (Although the girls still managed to sneak their way into the first two!)

Wedding portrait – groom (Zack is amazing to photograph–it’s so rare for a groom to look at the lens and Just Be like Zack did):  Wedding at the Pines at Genesse

Wedding portrait – groom (Laura and Ken battled a very rainy day, but we snuck up to their hotel room for some beautiful window-lit portraits–Ken even had a few posing requests, which I loved!): Wedding at Denver Marriott South at Park Meadows

Wedding portrait – groomsmen (This comes from one of our most fun shoots with the guys–after getting dressed the groom and groomsmen walked down to Mustards Last Stand for lunch.  My favorite part of the day was when a very concerned onlooker informed me that [a] a hot dog place is a very strange location for photos and [b] that we were missing the bride.  You could tell that she seriously doubted my credentials as a wedding photographer and half expected me to start shooting everything with my iPhone.)  Wedding at University of Denver
