I didn’t think we’d ever run into another Eloise when we picked Ellie’s name, but here we are just 7 months later and I’ve already met another adorable Eloise!  (And this Eloise is more authentic–she has a pug!  [I warned Heather and Leon that I might be sending a little turtle wearing sneakers along with their pictures to complete the picture.])

Eloise’s session came in two parts–the first afternoon here at the studio in Black Forest, was a bit of a bust.  So we tried again at her house in downtown Colorado Springs the next day and saw a lot more smiles.  Even though the first day wasn’t a huge success, we still had some keepers!

One of my favorite things to capture when posing a bigger family portrait are smaller sections of that group.  Miss Eloise was definitely a daddy’s girl and we had no trouble capture cute pictures of her with Leon that day.  He was the ONLY person she wanted!

There’s nothing quite as perfect as family portraits in that golden hour sunlight!

I loved starting off last week with a cute picture from our family folder and am thinking of making it a weekly event.  Here are my two turkeys sharing a book in bed this morning.  Long live afternoon preschool and all the lazy mornings it affords!

Coming up:  Nathan and Jackie’s sneak peek from their incredible Boulder wedding!

Rob and Anna got a little sneak peek of their family portrait session here, and now it’s time to fully share the pictures from their shoot!    I almost wish I wasn’t going to do a gallery for this post because I want to say something about every photo.  Like how poor Lauren was sick and having a really rough time but perked up at the promise of a Target field trip.  Or how Jack and I could hang out with my camera all day long and never get bored or run out of smiles or silly faces.  (The second picture from that post of Jack and Lauren’s shoot a year and a half ago hangs in the studio, so I see Jack’s smile every day!)  Or how hard Lawson giggled while playing with his daddy.  I could talk about how much I completely adore the pictures of Rob and Anna comforting Lauren and how I love capturing those less smiley moments, since it is such a big part of the magic of being a Mommy or Daddy.  I could talk about their perfect outfits or how Anna’s impeccable style and beauty reminds me of January Jones from Mad Men.  But instead I’ll just post a zillion pictures and let them speak for themselves!
