intro-post

Real Photography closed in December 2014 and is no longer accepting clients.

Thank you for your support over the years! Please follow me at my new personal blog: www.needlesandapen.com to keep up with my latest photography, craft, and nursing school adventures.

I love a good annual wrap-up, so I’m excited to revisit my ‘best of’ blog posts of previous years with a 2011 series!  Coming up first are the getting ready photos!  So, without further ado, here are our favorite photos of brides and grooms getting ready from a few of our 2011 weddings…

I had so much fun with Nikki and Chris at their engagement shoot last month that I couldn’t wait for their New Years Eve wedding at the Space Gallery in Denver!  Jamie Smith got to be my second shooter for the day, and we had a wonderful night capturing this family!  (And we may have come to blows on just whose daughter gets to marry adorable little Liam, but that’s a story for a different post…)  ;)

Nikki and Chris are so in love–we captured so many amazing candid pictures of them that look staged their so perfect and full of love!  Like these first two of the bride and groom immediately after the wedding ceremony…

(As you can see, the bagpipes during the cocktail hour made a big impression on the little girls!  The shot of the girls fleeing up the stairs as the bagpiper approaches cracks me up every time I look at it!)

I could do an entire post with about 1000 pictures from the first dance–that is just a tiny snippet!

After several  hours of dancing, it was time for the count down to midnight.  I just love the idea of a New Years Eve wedding–what a wonderful way to welcome in the new year–your new life together ready to begin!

When Lizzie was three weeks old I went back for part two of her newborn shoot (being my goddaughter has its benefits).

A little different processing on these next ones than is usual for me. I love the old film feel for these lifestyle shots!

She had grown so much in the two weeks before her shoots! We couldn’t get over just how big she seemed in the newborn poses! And she was awake, too, which made for fun lifestyle pictures!

I’d really wanted to do this popular pair of images for myself when I was pregnant with Ellie…but doing them for Bernadette is the next best thing!
