intro-post

Real Photography closed in December 2014 and is no longer accepting clients.

Thank you for your support over the years! Please follow me at my new personal blog: www.needlesandapen.com to keep up with my latest photography, craft, and nursing school adventures.

I had the pleasure of photographing Jennifer and Jason this weekend in Manitou Springs and Garden of the Gods.  I always get the nicest clients!  I kept thinking “I wish Nic was here because he would love these guys!”  (Note for the behind the scenes shots fans–we are now booking the majority of our engagement shoots with just one photographer, so there won’t be too many behind the scenes shots from engagement shoots.)

We managed to catch more fall leaves!

I give massive credit to Jennifer and Jason for pulling off this shot!  They had a pretty big audience of on-lookers cheering them on!

I had to head back to that spot where Nic photographed my behind the scenes photo last week…

This one is my favorite!

I love this one in vertical and horizontal.  They are just so cute and in love!

Thanks for a wonderful shoot!  We hope you have a wonderful wedding!

We met Jesse and Veronica last weekend in Manitou Springs for their engagement portrait shoot.  We had the best time with them and I think Nic and I came close to saying “forget the pictures–let’s just sit here and chat” (except people don’t like that very much).  ;)

I think I can safely say that this was our last shoot with fall leaves!  (Watch me be wrong, but we’ve had a fantastically wonderful autumn this year!)

We had some fun with the leaves…

Jesse and Veronica are such a fun couple to spend an afternoon with!

And they’re pretty darn cute!

No visit to Garden of the Gods can be complete without a few red rocks pictures…

Thanks for a wonderful afternoon, Jesse and Veronica!  We can’t wait for the wedding!

A little behind the scenes action.  Shots like this one were a big motivator in our desire to test out the D3.  Our Canons would really struggle with focus in a situation like this, but the Nikon nailed it in one try.

Looking fabulous in black and gold… ;)  (And I am totally hitting up this spot for our shoot this weekend–that background looks so cool!)

I met up with Meghan and Drew yesterday for their engagement shoot.  Meghan had asked if there were any areas with trains, so I knew just the spot to head to!

We played around with the industrial backgrounds, too.  (For the photographers, with the exception of these next two shots, everything in this post was taken with my new D3 and 70-200 f/2.8VR.)

I can’t resist a set of stairs!

Thanks Meghan and Drew, for braving the hobos and chilly weather!  It was fun to spend the afternoon with you!
