intro-post

Real Photography closed in December 2014 and is no longer accepting clients.

Thank you for your support over the years! Please follow me at my new personal blog: www.needlesandapen.com to keep up with my latest photography, craft, and nursing school adventures.

Melissa and Dustin are so cute!  I was excited to get to see them again this past weekend–we really do have the nicest people as clients!

Melissa and Dustin share my love of books, so I planned to take them to the adorable Black Cat Books in Manitou.  We had a great time inside–I love hanging out with people who love books as much as I do!

The bookstore is located in an old dairy (I KNOW!).  I shot this through a very old window:

This really is the book Dustin was reading to Melissa.  It had some excellent advice.  ;)

(By the way, I *love* Melissa’s polka dots!!)

Melissa has the best, most joyful personality!!  I love her smile and laugh!

“Joy” has been on this wall for a month or two–I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate it into a shoot.  I really like this angle!

We had some BEAUTIFUL light at Garden of the Gods!

We almost killed Dustin with this one!

Melissa and Dustin, we absolutely love working with you!!  You are such great people and we’re thrilled that we get to photograph your wedding!  We know it will be chalk full of love and joy!

Alison posted her pictures from our WPPI shoot-out today. I am totally in love with the shot of Shannon laying on the ground with her hat half off snapping our picture!  Best behind-the-scenes photo ever!

(And yeah, in case you haven’t seen me in the last month, my hair is a little on the dark side.  Hair color accident.  You should have seen it two weeks before WPPI when it was completely black.  I was the oldest, mother-est, business-owner-est goth teenager in the world.)

Here are a couple of my faves:

(PS–On a completely petty note, I’m still mad that I had to do this shoot with my little camera.  Cause everyone knows the bigger your camera, the cooler a photographer are. )

I like these cause Alison made me look pretty…

And I like these cause I love my job…

Thanks a zillion, Alison!!!  I love them all!!

Two big announcements in one day on the boudoir photography front!

After a year of making do with a little sample boudoir shoot slideshow, we finally have a website devoted to it!  Check out our new boudoir photography website!   It’s a blog/website in one, so we’ll be posting boudoir shoots over there now.  (In other words, be sure to update your google reader!)

And even more importantly, The Curtis Hotel in Denver and the best make-up artist in the world, Danica, have agreed to work with me in a special boudoir event in May!  (Edited:  the event is now sold out.  Thanks everyone!)
