Dolores and Daniel’s wedding was a beautiful two day event over Memorial Day weekend.  They had their nuptial mass on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Old Colorado City.

Day 2 was a little tough on Dolores and Daniel–Colorado Springs people might remember all of the crazy rain we had that weekend.  It washed out their chosen wedding site and poured down on their preferred portrait spots!  They made some quick changes and we ended up doing their portraits on the grounds of their reception site–The Briarhurst.  It was beautiful and completely green from all the rain we’d had that week.   We got some STUNNING portraits!

This ring shot was Nic’s idea and I love it.  Perfect way to capture the rain that played such a big part in the day!weddingphotographercoloradosprings11

I have brought this umbrella to every wedding Just In Case.  I was a little excited to finally break it out–I have had rainy day poses rolling around in my head for a while!

And we had another awesome fight for the garter–check out that jump!

Thanks for having us capture your wedding weekend, Dolores and Daniel!  We know the rain was a disappointment but are so glad you were willing to go out in the drizzle for pictures!  You were great sports and we wish you all the best!

An approaching storm provided great dramatic skies and light for Mary and Dave’s engagement portrait shoot!

Here’s the first of the engagement shoot sneak peeks this week, from Leigh and Tyler’s engagement shoot in Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs!

We’ve had a lot more rain than normal for the last few weeks, so our sessions lately have been wonderfully (and uncharacteristically) green!

We got a late start to the shoot, which made it a little fast paced, but a bonus of shooter later was catching the lights in Manitou!

A “Nic’s shot, my version” pair:

(It’s rare, but mine is actually the wider angle shot [above]!)

And a behind the scenes shot of Nic (for the photogs out there, he’s using one of these rain sleeves):
