intro-post

Real Photography closed in December 2014 and is no longer accepting clients.

Thank you for your support over the years! Please follow me at my new personal blog: www.needlesandapen.com to keep up with my latest photography, craft, and nursing school adventures.

We got confirmation today that Will is indeed having a baby sister.   She will be making her official blog debut in late January (unless she wants to make her momma proud by making her arrival in the 2009 tax year) and you will no doubt be bored to tears by the many newborn poses I’m going to put her through.  So get ready.  It’s gonna be obnoxious.

At our ultrasound today we had a little surprise–my drs office does the crazy 4d images, so we got to see her little face!  (Keep in mind that with Will I was on active duty and military hospitals won’t even give you an ultrasound unless there is something wrong, so the almost monthly ultrasounds I’m getting with this pregnancy [thanks to a medical condition] are quite a novelty!)

At 19.5 weeks a baby is all skin and bones and so she’s definitely just as gross as she is cute, but too bad–I have to share Will’s little sister here anyway!

(I think it’s so cool that you can see the cord coming out of her belly [and then winding up and around her head]!)

I won’t say that “now the shopping can begin!” because I’ve been shopping for the last 5 weeks–from the very moment we heard it was most likely a girl.  ;)  It just means that now I can throw away receipts!  :P

I photographed Sophie and Jack last summer and was excited to get to see how much they’d grown!

And Guess what?!  They’ve got a new baby sister!  A week after our portrait session last year Jenni found out she was expecting this little surprise!

When I asked Jack how he got to be so cute he said, “my mom.”  AHHHHH.

When we were done with the shoot Sophie and Jack asked if I could stay and play.  When I told them that I had to go, Sophie said, “Oh.  You have to go to work?”  I said “this IS my work.”  And she started hysterically.  “This is your JOB?!!” she asked between giggles.  “Pictures are your JOB?!!”  Followed by a lot more incredulous laughter.  I immediately called everyone I knew on the way home to tell them the story.  It’s become a new catchphrase in the Turchin household: “pictures are your JOB?!!”

I am so excited to share this sneak peek with you because it has my favorite picture EVER in it.  I’m so so proud of that shot I do a little dance when I see it.  :)

Leigh and Tyler were married at Boettcher Mansion in Golden.  It is such a cool spot and Nic and I enjoyed looking at all of historic information that we could find about the building.  It was a fantastic wedding and we were lucky to work with quite the dream team of vendors–it made everything super easy and enjoyable!  Debbie from Save the Date Events coordinated the day and made our jobs easy as pie–thanks for everything Debbie!  The gorgeous flowers were arranged by Annie Aubert.  We are always thrilled to see that Ken from Quality Mobile Sound will be DJing–he does a great job with the music, coordinates well with us for all of the photo ops of the evening and sets a great pace for the night!  The Food Guy catered and were fantastic–the food was so yummy and they even saved us salad plates (we usually never get a chance to eat the salad!).

Leigh has such a grace and elegance about her–I just love her getting ready shots!

Thanks so much Leigh and Tyler–you planned an incredible wedding and it was such an honor to photograph it!  Thanks for picking such rad vendors, too!  :)  We hope you love your sneak peek!

And a first of what I can only cringe and hope will be one of very few belly related behind the scenes shots.  We call this “traci’s view, baby’s view.”  Never too young to have a camera I guess!  :P
