I am really excited to start an English Paper Piecing project this week. I’m using mainly 30s reproduction fabrics that I’ve stashed over the years (though I have a feeling there are a couple I’ve missed–I need to dig a little deeper and I’m hoping my mom still has a scrap or two left over from her old Aunt Grace’s quilt top) along with some others that have that retro feedsack vibe. I’m using the 60 degree diamond shapes from Quilt Patis (1.5″ size) along with this tutorial. I’ve been going back and forth, but the plan right now is to do the fabric in the reverse so that the stars are white and my patterned fabric forms the space around the stars, inspired by this top.

Welcome to my blog!
Hi! I'm Traci. I'm a Registered Nurse who loves quilting, knitting, cross stitch, and the great outdoors. In my pre-scrubs life, I owned Real Photography, and you can still see my old wedding and portrait photography site here .
I've created a map that shows links to our camping/hiking/general family fun review posts that you can find here. It's pretty much the coolest thing on this site. Thanks, Google!
I great big puffy heart *love* comments, so please let me know you visited! I try to always reply!

Danielle - that will be pretty!
Audrey - I saw your post on flickr before this, and I have to say that I am excited about doing these too! I love the quilt with the white stars, and I am torn with how to do mine. I do love 30’s reproduction fabric because they remind me of all of the quilts my grandmothers made. It is going to be so lovely.
jessica - excellent fabric selection! can wait to see it turned into stars~
nicke - I LOVE your fabric. I wish I had all of them!
Fran - I’m sure I do!
